John M. Skain, President & CEO
Mr. Skain joined Penson in 2005 with responsibilities for Business Development, Trade Execution & Treasury. He was also responsible for overseeing the launch of two new business lines, PensonPrime and Market Essentials Group. Mr Skain brings over 20 years of industry experience to Penson and has spent 14 years working with businesses dedicated to providing services and business support to Introducing Brokers and Investment Counsellors. Mr. Skain holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
François Gervais, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Gervais joined Penson in December 2002. Mr. Gervais was previously CFO with The Jitney Group for two years and prior to that was CFO and Vice-President Administration with Laurentian Bank Securities for a period of two years. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gervais was with McNeil Mantha for a period of 7 years as assistant director of Operations then Sales Manager and subsequently Vice-President Administration and Finance. Mr Gervais holds a Chartered Accountant (CA) designation.
Susie Rafael, Senior Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer
Ms. Rafael joined Penson in 2004. Prior to joining Penson, Ms. Rafael managed Credit & Compliance at RBC – Action Direct. Ms. Rafael started her career at Marleau Lemire Securities in 1991 where she occupied the position of Institutional Fixed Income Salesman for a few years prior to switching over to that of Compliance Officer. Ms. Rafael brings over 15 years of industry experience to Penson.
Ray Hori, Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Hori joined PFSC in December 2006. Prior to joining Penson, he was Vice President, Technology at Perimeter Financial Corp and Chief Technology Officer at CollectiveBid Systems Inc. Mr. Hori has over 25 years experience in both financial services and technology including various positions with Bridge Information Systems (Dow Jones/Telerate) and Kasten Chase (T.I.L. Systems).
Rob McPherson, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Mr. McPherson joined Penson in 2000. Prior to joining Penson, Mr. McPherson managed the securities operations group at GMP Securities. Mr. McPherson started his career at Dean Witter Reynolds Canada Ltd. in 1988 where he occupied a position within the banking/treasury group. Mr. McPherson brings over 19 years of industry experience to Penson.
Kevin Vanderheyden, Senior Vice President & Head of Canadian Business Development
Mr. Vanderheyden has been with Penson since 2006. He is responsible for all business development activities in Canada. Mr. Vanderheyden has 15 years of financial services industry experience with a focus on the business development and relationship management of various types of institutions including Investment Counsellors and Correspondent Brokers.
