(”Penson”) was formed in 2000 when Penson Worldwide, Inc. acquired Penson’s predecessor.  A group of seasoned professionals, each possessing a wealth of securities industry knowledge, was put together. The objective was to create an independent clearing firm that was not bank owned or created from an existing dealer. Penson grew rapidly, quickly becoming known for its innovative use of technology, advanced automation and superior customer service. Early efforts were focused on the active trading market, which has since expanded to servicing all types of financial institutions. Today we are Canada’s largest independent clearing firm in terms of number of correspondent clients that we service. Additionally we provide trading and product solutions to a wide range of financial firms in Canada and abroad.
